There are several very important requirements which you must be aware of before you apply for your ETA.

1. Your passport must be from one of these approved countries.

2. Your passport must have more than 6 months left before it expires.

3. If your passport expires while you are in Australia on your ETA, you must renew BOTH your expired passport and get an new ETA specifically for that new passport.

4. If your passport expires while you are still overseas, you must renew BOTH your expired passport and get an new ETA specifically for that new passport.

5. If your ETA expires due to your passport expiring and you do not renew your ETA Visa, while in Australia, you may be prosecuted by the law for being illegally in Australia.
